Advanced Neurological Care

ANSA offers the most advanced neurological treatments available.

Most patients have to travel to a major hospital system to access the newest FDA approved therapies in neurology. ANSA brings them to a private practice in Glendale, paired with the kind of continuity and personal attention that large institutions rarely provide.

FDA Approved · Alzheimer's Disease

Anti amyloid infusion therapy

Anti amyloid infusion therapy is the most significant advance in Alzheimer's treatment in decades. For eligible patients in the early stages of the disease, these intravenous infusions actively target and remove amyloid plaques from the brain, addressing the underlying disease rather than just managing symptoms. This is the first time a treatment has been able to do that.

FDA Approved · Migraine Prevention

CGRP preventive therapy

CGRP stands for calcitonin gene-related peptide, the molecule most responsible for triggering migraine attacks. The CGRP class of medications was developed specifically to block this pathway, making it the first preventive treatment purpose-built for migraine rather than borrowed from other conditions like blood pressure or epilepsy medications. For many patients, CGRP therapy is the treatment that finally works.

Additional treatments & diagnostics
EEG (Brain Wave Testing)
In-office electroencephalography to evaluate seizures, unexplained episodes, and other abnormal electrical activity in the brain without referral to an outside facility.
Neurocognitive Testing
Structured, in-office assessment of memory, attention, language, and executive function that detects cognitive change early and tracks it over time to guide care decisions.
pTau Blood Biomarkers
Advanced blood-based markers that can confirm an Alzheimer's diagnosis and determine whether a patient is a candidate for anti amyloid therapy, all from a simple blood draw in office.
Cognitive Care Visits
Dedicated, unhurried appointments focused entirely on memory and thinking, tracking changes over time, adjusting treatment, and giving families time to ask questions and plan ahead.
Parkinson's & Movement Disorders
Diagnosis and ongoing medical management of Parkinson's disease, essential tremor, and related movement disorders, including medication planning and referral coordination for advanced therapies.
Stroke Prevention & Recovery
Post-stroke neurological care focused on preventing a second event, managing vascular risk factors, screening for cognitive effects, and coordinating recovery to protect long-term brain health.
Seizures & Epilepsy
In-office EEG, seizure classification, anti-seizure medication management, and trigger identification, keeping patients well-controlled with the right treatment matched to their seizure type.
Headaches & Chronic Headache
Diagnosis of tension-type, cluster, and medication-overuse headache with individualized treatment plans, trigger management, and preventive strategies beyond migraine-specific care.
What is GUIDE?

A new standard for dementia care, backed by Medicare.

The GUIDE Model (Guiding an Improved Dementia Experience) is a national program created by Medicare to change how dementia is cared for. It funds a complete support system around each patient, not just office visits.

Dr. Akopian was selected to deliver it alongside major institutions like UCLA, USC, and Cedars Sinai. Dr. Akopian is the only private physician in all of Los Angeles chosen to participate.

Meet Dr. Akopian

Glendale born, Keck USC trained, patient first by design.

Dr. Vahe Akopian is a board certified neurologist who grew up in Glendale and built his practice to give his community fellowship level neurology and memory care, without the impersonal feel of a large hospital system.

He completed his neurology training at Keck USC, followed by an additional fellowship year in intra-operative neuromonitoring, and was honored with a Young Investigator Award for his research. He founded ANSA to focus on what matters most: getting the diagnosis right, explaining it clearly, and standing beside families through every step of care.

Dr. Akopian took the time to explain my mother's Alzheimer's diagnosis in a way our whole family could understand. He enrolled her in the GUIDE program and for the first time in years we felt like we actually had support, not just a prescription. His staff is kind and responsive every time we call.

I had been dealing with debilitating migraines for years and saw multiple doctors with no real improvement. Dr. Akopian put me on a CGRP medication and within two months my frequency went from 15 days a month to 3. He actually listened, found the right solution, and explained everything clearly. Complete game changer.

Finding a neurologist who is both highly knowledgeable and genuinely caring is rare. Dr. Akopian is both. He spent a full hour with me on my first visit, ordered exactly the right tests, and came back with a clear plan. You can tell he built this practice to do things the right way, not the fast way.
